ITS BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE WE HAVE HAD CLARITY THIS GOOD – I almost ran out of measuring rope.!!!! Lots of zooplankton in the water column. The buzzer fishing has really kicked off this week with straight lining or washing line methods working well in the South East Basin and the Butts. Good catches are also being reported from the Malling shore (aka Roman Bay). Earlier in the week the dancer or damsel was the fly of choice as the fish were fry bashing a large shoal of roach in Hotel Bay.

BOAT LEAGUE HEAT 1: In the first heat of the 2018 Menteith Boat League on 10/5/18, 27 anglers netted 98 trout. The top bags were both in the same boat and included 2014 winner Keir Hardie (right) and West Highland angling expert Donnie MacBeth. They started out in Hotel Bay then moved to Lochend. Using the washing line method they both netted 9 trout but Keir managed his first in the third or so cast at 6.05pm which meant he was the heat winner and collected the £30 pounds worth of FARIO FLIES and a wee box. Donnie collects the bottle of Loch Lomond Malt - a fine dram, courtesy of SOUTHSIDE DECORATOR.
