After the good weather for the opening weekend the wind and the rain started, despite this the fish are still getting caught on or near the surface The fish are getting caught near the shallow markers out from the boat shed, Shear point, Katie’s brae, Lochend up into the shooting butts using midge tip or a fast glass line. Flies that are doing well include, Diawl bachs, Nymphs, Montana’s, and the ubiquitous Blobs and Booby’s.
Butcher Boys A.C. had 9 boats and caught 40 for 79lbs; the Scottish youth team caught 49 fish and returned them. Bothwell and Blantyre (10 boats) caught 68fish for 125lbs and returned another 20, Grizzelcats (7 boats) caught 28 fish for 56lb and returned another 100, Heriots A.C. (7 boats) caught 28 fish for 556lb and returned another 20, Mr Kelly/Mr Finlayson from Livingston caught 4 for 8lb and returned 17, K Laird from Lochgilpead caught 23 fish and returned them all. Mr Dickinson from Paisley caught and returned 31 fish.
