BACK TO BACK FOR CHANGE 'A'
Change AC “A” Team are the new Scottish Club Champions. These three (L to R; Jock Kettles, Andy Dunn and Kevin McCabe) are the first to retain the Silver Salver in consecutive years since Beith St. Inans performed a similar feat in 91 and 92. The Championship which is sponsored by the Daily Record, Famous Grouse and the Angling Centre Stirling is the largest angling contest in the land with more than 200 clubs competing for the £1700 worth of cash prizes (the majority of which is donated back to Yorkhill Sick Kids Special Equipment Fund), whisky and angling equipment provided by the ACS. Change A picked up £500 and three Airlite trout competition rods. In Second place were St.fillans and Loch Earn (George Whyte, Peter Auchterlonie and Ronald Gilbert) who collected £300 and Airflow Competion Casette reels. Third were last years winners Change ‘B’. The winning method for Kevin (10 fish) was buzzers and a gold booby on the point with midge tip at the Road Shore and Kate’s Brae. Andy (9 fish) was in Reedy Bay with a booby later changed to a dry and two buzzers and Jock was at Gateside with a stinger and two buzzers. The 54 anglers weighed in 142 fish for 322lbs and returned a further 144 fish.
