Clarity 2.6m Water Temperature at 6ft 17C.
Food Van times at the Fishery next week; Every Morning (except Sunday), and in the evenings - Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. A settled week this week made for good sport with most of the fish getting caught from the rookery into Gateside and the North Western drifts also International bay and hotel bay. Hoppers, bibios, Cormarants, Diawl bachs, Peter ross, Damsel nymphs Montana’s, crunchers, blobs and boobies doing well on floating down to a fast glass line.

In the 13th heat of the Menteith Boat League (sponsored by the Angling Centre Stirling): with it now a shorter evening and a reduced limit Alan Brock got his first victory this year and Simon Littlejohn came second for the second week. Alan got his in the rookery. This week’s lines went to Gordon Hayward and Dionne Roberts. With only 2 weeks to go Simon has increased his lead over Brian McKenzie. See Website for more details. 29 anglers landed 48 fish for 95lbs.

2010 Youth national: On a very bright and warm day 29 youths trying to get into the Scottish team for next year fished the first leg and caught 58 fish (all returned safely) Stuart Crocket, Tyler Hay and local Max Mckinstrie all caught 5 fish with another local Steven McVean catching the longest fish, the second leg is on Carron dam on the 22nd August.

Other catches ; Mel  Leiper finally got one over his long his long time boat partner  Richard Ness beating him 5-0 he got his on Diawl bachs. The intercity comp was held between Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee they caught 84 fish for 175lb with Glasgow being triumphant with 33 fish, Jim Law (Wishaw) 10 fish for 21lb, S O’Neil/J Litster 10 for 22lb plus another 10 returned, Farmers and associates  24 fish for 45lb, David Paterson (Stenhousemuir)12 fish returned, Lothian and Border Police (13 boats) 64 fish 127lb plus 7 returned, Curries (Cowie/Banockburn) 9 fish for 20 1/2 lb, Andy Boylan and son (Kilwinning) 10 fish 22lb plus 3 returned. It is with sadness that former opening day piper, good freind, neighbour and boat partner Donnie Cameron passed away last week at the age of 75 after a short illness. He will be fondly remembered.
