Stocking Days: Tues 14th /Wed 15th
alan hill police internationalAyrshire Policeman Alan Hill celebrates achieving the best bag trophy and dons his winner’s medal at the Police Inter-national presentation dinner.

The Scottish Police set a new record with their fifth consecutive win at this event.
Scotland netted 81 fish, 25 ahead of their nearest rivals England.

In all the 64 anglers netted 237 fish of average weight 2lbs 1.5oz, of which 95 were returned.  Alan spent most of his time in Gateside Bay, trying to keep away from other boats and ended up fishing a team of black hoppers. 2nd top bag was Steve Bett from Fife – also with 12 fish. Proceeds from the sale of the police catch went to charity.

Tactics:  A week of north-westerly winds looks set to further decrease water temperature.  Shelter from this wind direction is most behind dog Isle, david mateerGateside, Rookery, Hotel Bay and the Butts. The squalls can give quite hairy conditions with the Road Shore and Lochend being the most exposed. Alan Hill has set a trend for black dries or black crunchers – also doing well has been the usual lures such as white cat and booby.

Results:
