Clarity 1.9m  6ft water temperature 15C

The Water clarity has improved again this week with it up to 1.9m. Best areas have been Gateside Bay, Stable point, Dog island, Rookery and Sams point Dries crunchers and snatcher are doing well
. As of Saturday the 1st of August the evening fishing will stop at 10pm.

The Saturday night heats were completed on 25th July when 13 clubs contested heat 13.  The evening started off in bright sun with a gentle breeze and it was a change to be out in warm conditions.  The breeze picked up slightly when the sun started to dip and by the end of the evening it had turned chilly.    With the top club boating 12 trout and the top rod catching 6 fish it was not an easy night.  A total of 83 fish for 189lb 14.4oz were caught of which 26 were returned.

http://www.sanacc.org.uk/images/p041_1_20.pngThe top club were the Change FF AC "B" team (Pic left)of Wullie Leach (3 fish), Jim Crawford (3 fish) and Ray Anderson (6 fish) with 12 trout for  28lb 8.6oz.  Almost all of their fish were taken on dries at the back of Inchmahome. Second were the Coldstream & District AA ( Dick Logan, Keith Renton, and Mick Charlton) with 11 trout for 22lb 8.4oz. Third were Ferry Fly Fishers ( Gordon Fisher, Andrew Glasgow and Craig Masson with 9 fish for 21lb 6.4oz.
The top five individuals qualifying for the Champion of Champions were:-
1.  Ray Anderson of Change FF AC with 6 trout for 13lb 1oz.  Ray took his fish on dries at the back of Inchmahome.
2.  Dick Logan of Coldstream & District AA with 6 trout for 12lb 2oz3.  Stuart Marklow of Loanhead & District AC with 5 trout for 11lb 5.4oz 4.  Andrew Glasgow of Ferry FF with 5 trout for 10lb 14.8.  5.  Keith Renton of Coldstream & District AA with 5 trout for 10lb 6.4oz
The heaviest fish of the evening was caught by Phil Hunter of Airdrie & District AC and came to the scales at 6lb 3.6oz.  The fish fell to a yellow owl at the Rookery.
Change FF AC, Ray Anderson and Phil Hunter all received a bottle of "Famous Angler" whisky.

 

MENTEITH/ BAYNES Boat League on the 22nd July Brian McKenzie was top rod with 8 fish, he got them on dries in Gateside, Butts, Sams Pt and International Bay. 2nd was last year’s winner Keir Hardie with 6 fish and 3rd was Donnie Mcbeth. Keir wins this week’s £25 voucher from James Bayne tackle shop. Brian returns to the of the league and Jim Twaddle is now in 2nd place.
