Season over at the Lake
This unusual and intriguing photo was composed (not digitally), posed and taken by Artist and Inchmahome Ferry woman Emma Skeldon. Taken at the height of our unusually warm summer, it seemed a very apt way to call time on the fishing at the Lake.
Lake Fishery Kirk and School Day Raises £2300 and what a great party to end the fishing season at the Lake.
The fishery donates all fishing permits for the day and the children’s carers and fishery staff organise a BBQ and raffle. The generosity of the local and angling communities is really astonishing – with raffle prizes donated by the anglers and from local businesses near and far and including the; Aberfoyle Deli, Aberfoyle Garage, Aberfoyle Post Office, Buchlyvie Inn, Buchlyvie Store, Callander Woollen Mill, Co-op Aberfoyle, Co-op Callander, Deli Ecosse, Dugie Clark Clachan Mhor, Edinburgh Woollen Mill, Forth Inn, Galleria Luti, Gartmore Shop, Guyana, Handy Corner Shop, James Bayne’s Fishing & Tackle, Junktion Antiques, Kin Interiors, Lake Hotel, Lake of Menteith Fisheries, Lion & Unicorn Hotel, Liz McGregor’s Coffee Shop, McFarlane Pharmacy, McLaren Leisure Centre, McNicholl’s Country Store, The National Trust for Scotland - Dollar Glen, Nick Nairn Cook School, The Old Bank, Rednock Riding Centre, Rhubarb Lime, Scottish Wool Centre, Shell Shop, Treehouse, Skinner the Butchers, Ward Toll Garden Centre, Waverley Hotel. Special thanks to Stewart Marshall for his piping, John Buchanan for the venison, Paul Barr for his photos (more on the facebook page) and the local musicians for backing the childrens singing and afterwards.
As usual, pictures say a lot more, but the day surpassed itself yet again, and it was a great opportunity for one and all to meet up and enjoy some great company, fishing, soup, singing and BBQ fare.
