About the Area

The Lake of Menteith and the village of the Port of Menteith lie at the edge of the Trossachs National Park. The park is 720 square miles and incorporates 21 Munros (mountains above 3000 ft). 50% of Scotland’s population live within an hour of the park and we are proud to call it ‘home’. You can see abundant wildlife and nature, there are places to stay to suit all budgets, places to hike, cycle, swim. There is history to explore and lovely places to sit and admire our outstanding views. For the non-fishermen there are endless possibilities. Please see our Things to Do page.
